Trailers for racing video games tend to be made with the aim of showing off the game’s graphics and physics engine, as these are generally the two things that set one game apart from another. So the latest Forza 6 Motorsport trailer is sure to do this, but it does so in a way that is a bit different from other trailers. It shows a new 2017 Ford GT starting up and then racing through some of the biggest names in racing video games; games like Ridge Racer, Chase H.Q., Outrun, Pole Position, R.C. Pro-Am and Grank Trak 10. The effect is actually pretty amusing, as the GT is rendered using the Forza 6 Motorsports engine, while everything else is giant pixels.
The message of the whole thing is that Forza 6 Motorsports is the game we’ve been waiting for all of these years. Microsoft certainly seems to think so too, as this is one of the games that there will be a special limited edition Xbox One console for. And since this is a game that won’t be available on any other platform, Microsoft is probably hoping that some people are going to buy the console just for the game.
