Ferrari FXX K In Action At Spa Francorchamps: Video

There are track cars that are meant to compete in FIA-sanctioned events and then there are track cars that exist just for the sake of going fast on a track. Because as great as the 2013 Porsche 911 GT3 RSR is, sometimes you just want to see what would be possible if you didn’t have to worry about all of those pesky rules. The 2015 Ferrari FXX K is one of these cars, and Ferrari describes it as “unfettered by homologation and racing regulations.” It’s something made just to see how great a road car-based track machine can be. The answer is that it is absolutely incredible, and here is a video that demonstrates that.

The footage was shot at Spa Francorchamps in Belgium, at what seems to be a special FXX K event (which is the only time owners get to drive them), because there are several of them out on the track. The track is actually wet as the cars are going around, and even though it isn’t pouring rain, a 1,036-horsepower hypercar on a wet track must be a pretty terrifying experience. It serves as a testament to how well the active aerodynamics work that none of the cars show so much as a hint of a loss of control.
