Rinspeed Etos Concept


Rinspeed concepts are some of the more entertaining that the automotive world produces. Being much smaller and less concerned with mainstream appeal than big manufacturers, Rinspeed’s concepts reflect some real outside the box thinking. The company refers to itself as an “automotive think tank,” but the Swiss firm also restores classic cars and does a good deal of tuning work on newer cars. But however you would classify it, the concepts that it brings out every year are always interesting. These concepts are usually shown at the Geneva show, on the company’s home turf. But this year a concept is being sent to CES in Las Vegas, which has become increasingly more car-oriented in recent years.

This new concept is the Etos, a semi-autonomous sports car that will be revealed in full once the show starts. You don’t really see many autonomous sports cars, because there doesn’t really seem to be much of a point, although this is hardly the only confusing thing about the car. CES has been chosen for the debut of this concept for exactly the reasons you would expect. As cars become ever more laden with technology, it is the electronics in the car that become the most important part.
