Porsche has always been conspicuous by its absence in many racing game franchises, but that changes this week in Forza Horizon 2 with the new Porsche Expansion Pack DLC, which adds 10 of Stuttgart’s best cars to the open-world racer set in southern Europe.
The DLC includes the 2003 Porsche Carrera GT, 1989 Porsche 944 Turbo, 1987 Porsche 959, 1982 Porsche 911 Turbo 3.3, 1970 Porsche 914/6, 2015 Porsche Cayman GTS, 2012 Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0 (997), 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo S, 2014 Porsche 918 Spyder and 2015 Porsche Macan Turbo, as well as new Porsche-themed bucket-list events, Rivals events and 15 new Xbox Live achievements. Personally, I’m really chomping at the bit to get my hands on that GT3 RS 4.0.
It’s the first we’ve seen of the famed German marque in the Forza franchise since a similar Porsche DLC pack was added to Forza Motorsports 4, and the first time Porsche has been featured in a Forza game on Xbox One. It also makes Forza Horizon 2 one of the few games in which you can drive the current trifecta of hybrid hypercars: the 918 Spyder, Ferrari LaFerrari and McLaren P1.
