As if pro football fans didn’t get enough drama in their lives with the crazy-close ending of the 2015 Super Bowl, Nissan’s “With Dad” commercial pulled on heartstrings in the deepest ways. The ad showed gut-wrenching moments of a Nissan racecar-driving dad and the struggles he had raising his son – all accompanied by Harry Chapin’s tear-jerking song, “Cat’s In The Cradle.” If you feel like sobbing, give it a watch below. However, pay attention to the ending. Nissan gives us a clean look at the upcoming 2016 Maxima.
Though Nissan has not released any detailed information on the new Maxima, its shape is production-ready. The automaker has already announced that the sedan will make its official debut at the New York Auto Show in April, so expect more news as that time draws near.
If the shape looks familiar, you’re likely recalling Nissan’s “Sport Sedan Concept” first seen at the 2014 North American International Auto Show. The bodylines of both vehicles, especially around the front and rear fenders, bare an uncanny resemblance to each other. Only time can prove this mystery Maxima to be the real deal, but until then, check out my suspicions below the jump.
