Honda Civic Type R

Thanks to some creative aerodynamics and a monster four-cylinder engine, the Civic Type R tops out at 167 mph.

The European version of the new-generation Honda Civic made its debut at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. Now as we are entering the 2015 calendar year, we are getting closer to the unveiling of the next-generation Civic Type R. Our spy photographers have caught the hot hatch doing loads of testing, but now Honda is starting to roll out official information as we approach its 2015 Geneva Auto Show debut.

Honda has remained mum on many of the details behind the new Civic, but it has started letting out a few bits and pieces. However, the one bit that remains unknown is whether it’ll follow its rival, the 2016 Focus RS across the Atlantic to the streets of America or remain in the comfort of its European home.

Updated 02/11/2015: Honda dropped a series of new teaser images for its upcoming Civic Type R and confirmed once again that the model will be officially unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. New details reveal that the model will get a 2.0-liter, direct-injection turbo engine that will help it reach a top speed of 167 mph.
