Introduced in 2012, the Ferrari F12berlinetta has yet to receive an update as of 2015. However, the company’s newest grand tourer spawned a host of special-edition and one-off supercars crafted by its Special Projects division. Notable iterations include the F12 TRS, the SP America, and the F60 America, with the latter built to celebrate 60 years of Ferrari in North America. Also used to celebrate Ferrari’s first Tailor Made Center in Asia Pacific as the Polo Edition, the F12berlinetta returns into the spotlight as a modern-day tribute to the iconic 250 GTO.
Dubbed Tour de France Edition, the bespoke grand tourer pays homage to the Ecurie Francorchamps GTO that won the Tour de France race in 1964 with Belgian driver Lucien Bianchi behind the wheel. With Ferrari having won 13 races between 1951 and 1982, the Tour de France is now regarded as one of the most important racing events in the automaker’s history. That said, it’s no surprise Ferrari used a Tour de France winner as inspiration for a bespoke F12berlinetta. Keep reading to find out more about the latest special-edition supercar to come from Ferrari’s Tailor Made division.
