Alfa Romeo Giulia Mule Spied with FCA Parts

It’s a Maserati! It’s a Jeep! Nope, it’s the upcoming Alfa Romeo Giulia. Wait, what? Let me explain. Remember the awkward Maserati Ghibli mule that the company used to test the underpinnings of the Levante SUV we saw in late 2014? Well, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles did it again: it used the Ghibli sedan to mask yet another upcoming product. This time around, hiding underneath the Ghibli’s skin is the Alfa Romeo Giulia, the brand’s very own competitor for the likes of the BMW 3 Series, Audi A4, and Jaguar XE. According to Tumblr’s inno88, the two test mules shown above were spotted while testing in snowy Scandinavia, where all new vehicles go to hone their skills for the cold season.

Sure, there’s absolutely no indication these mules are indeed Alfa Romeo Giulias except for the source claiming so. The only photo showing the interior does nothing to help, as the cabin is a mash of FCA parts and includes a steering wheel sourced from a... Jeep. However, I’m 99-percent positive these mules are indeed test beds for the upcoming Giulia, as the sedan is the next new vehicle to come from to the brand according to its new strategy.
