2018 Volkswagen Amarok

Winter might be almost over, but Volkswagen is squeezing some last minute cold-weather testing for its updated Amarok pickup truck. Our spy photographer was able to snap several quality pictures of Amarok test mules as they trudged through springtime slush in the Swedish countryside.

The mules wore light camouflage to cover an updated front nose. Other than that, the trucks appear nearly identical to the current Amarok. The truck saw its latest update in 2015, so the updated truck we see here will likely debut no earlier than the 2018 model year.

While the front is the only body section covered, VW could easily roll out an updated rear, or at least new taillights to freshen the Amarok’s hindquarters. Such modifications could easily happen before the truck’s official debut. Both Dual Cab and Single Cab configurations were spotted testing, so this update will undoubtedly span the entire Amarok lineup.
