Slap some mudders on your muscle car, grab your homemade spear gun, and pierce your face with the bones of a small animal – the official Mad Max: Fury Road trailer is here. It’s two and a half minutes of action-packed craziness, with copious explosions, wacked-out psychotics, and of course, plenty of high-powered rust-bucket automotive combat.
Taking the original trilogy from the late 70s and 80s into 2015, this fourth installment in the franchise sees our intrepid lone-wolf hero (as played by Tom Hardy) entangled in a vicious post-apocalyptic highway war between the elite Imperator Furiosa (as played by Charlize Theron) and Immortan Joe (as played by Hugh Keays-Byrne). The film also stars Nicholas Hoult as Nux and Nathan Jones as Rictus Erectus.
The official trailer brings with it a few new tidbits to pique your interest, and it looks fantastic. Personally, this movie makes me want to dig up the old three and give them a re-watch. Not that I expect I’d need a reminder on salient plots or anything silly like that – it’s just that sometimes, you gotta prepare yourself properly. As such, you can expect to see me on opening day with heavy war paint, a fresh sunburn, and sand falling out of my pants. What a lovely day!
