GoPro Signs On To Become Official Wearable Camera Of MotoGP

GoPro has agreed to a deal with MotoGP to become the racing series’ official wearable camera, proving yet again that sponsorships do come in all shapes and sizes.

The five-year deal was struck by Dorna Sports and GoPro, essentially opening up MotoGP to an untapped level of video access that fans of the series will undoubtedly enjoy. I’m already excited about the possibilities this partnership will have. Remember Tommy Bridewell’s video of the British Superbike Championships I shared yesterday?

This new deal between GoPro and MotoGP will be just like that, only cooler, better, and every superlative you can throw its way. Expect new videos to become available to fans and if you know what GoPro is all about, these videos will come in varying forms, be it through on-bike course previews, behind-the-scenes vignettes, or heaven forbid, selfie videos!

The deal also puts MotoGP fans right in the middle of the action as Dorna and GoPro have agreed to host numerous events in six selected rounds of the season, beginning with this weekend’s Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas. The other five races in line to get their own GoPro-sponsored events include the Gran Premio bwin de España on May 3; the Gran Premio d’Italia TIM on May 31; the Grand Prix of Deutschland on July 12; the British Grand Prix on August 31; and the Grand Prix of Australia on Oct 18.

Apart from what has already mentioned, GoPro also secured title sponsorship for the German Grand Prix. So for the next five years, that race will officially be known as the GoPro Motored Grand Prix of Deutschland.

Has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it?
