The venerable Mercedes-Benz G-Class is celebrating 35 years of uninterrupted production in 2014, and the Germans are celebrating the milestone with a special-edition SUV. The G-Wagen has soldiered on largely unchanged since its introduction in 1979, a feat that not even the Land Rover Defender has managed to achieve, with the British SUV discontinued after 32 years on the market. Mercedes has all the reasons to celebrate and its vehicle of choice for this special occasion is the G-Class Edition 35.
As with most special edition Mercs, the G-Class Edition 35 comes with everything a regular and very capable G-Class has to offer, but with a few exterior and interior goodies on top. Special, Designo-made paints, exciting color contrasts and a bespoke interior is what makes the Edition 35 a cool SUV to own.
The only downside to it is that you can’t buy it in the United States. Read on to see what you’re missing unless you live in Germany.
