It seems Lexus is preparing a new GS F sedan for production in the 2016 model year. Reports confirm the performance sedan will be powered by an upgraded, 5.0-liter V-8 that powers the upcoming RC F coupe. The GS F will also get an eight-speed automatic from ZF, along with a Torsen rear differential as standard equipment.
We can expect the GS F’s V-8 to pump out roughly 506 horsepower and just under 400 pound-feet of torque. That should put the four-door sedan in the mid four-second range to 60 mph and at a top speed exceeding 170 mph.
Holding everything together will be a lengthened version of the RC’s chassis. A multi-link, electronic suspension with separate drive modes is also expected. The new GS F will borrow some of the RC F’s styling cues, including that massive Lexus Spindle Grille. Expect the GS F to cost around $130,000 when it hits the market.
What’s more, Lexus is apparently working on a four-door version of the RC F. If that’s the case, it will surely ride on the same lengthened platform as the GS F and share much of its underpinnings. It may be a case of slight size and styling differences being the only separators. AutoCar is reporting the four-door RC F is likely to bow "sometime in 2016" as well.
