Jaguar F-Type Catches Fire on the German Autobahn

The Jaguar F-Type Roadster has been one of the most popular sports cars since it made its debut at the 2012 Paris Motor Show. It’s rarely had any bad press and hasn’t received any negative reviews. Simply put, the F-Type Roadster has been a sparkling ray of light for Jaguar. But all good things come to an end, or burned to the ground in this case.

That’s exactly what happened to this F-Type Roadster in Germany. Multiple media reports out of Germany suggests that this charred piece of metal was once an F-Type Roadster. The accident happened earlier this week when the F-Type’s 26-year-old driver heard an explosion under its hood. The driver managed to stall the car on the side of the road before jumping out. Fortunately, he managed to escape unhurt before flames engulfed the F-Type and turned it into this wrecked heap.

The damage to the roadster is incredible. You can’t make even make it out anymore because the entire front section’s completely gone. It’s a wreck beyond recognition, which is even more difficult to stomach considering that reports indicated that it only had around 5,000 kilometers (around 3,100 miles) on its odometer.

We can only hope that this isn’t the start of an epidemic.
