Electric vehicle manufacturer Govecs has pulled the covers off of the GiGi concept, the company’s newest go-go-gadget electric scooter that promises to remain true to Govecs’ “true electric mobility” tag line.
To be clear, the GiGi isn’t what you’d call a traditional electric scooter. Part of that can be tied into the GiGi’s minimalist looks and spartan features, but you could also point to its relative lack of power compared to what most electric scooters provide.
Call it a novelty if you wish, but the GiGi also has a lot to offer to owners who prefer the more economical way of going to places that traditional engine-powered vehicles can’t get access to.
The GiGi is powered by a 500W brushless motor, good enough to offer 11 pound-feet of torque. Combine that with either 400W or 600W lithium-ion battery packs and you have a ride that’s capable of reaching a top speed of 15.5 mph. That might not sound like much compared to other electric scooters, but rest assured, the GiGi can get you where you need to go, provided of course you have the patience to allow it to reach your intended destination. Those batter packs also have a range of anywhere from 18 to 25 miles depending on the charge so at the very least, you know you get the most out of the GiGi anytime you feel the need to use it.
Its weight - 66 lbs - and the batteries’ recharge time of four hours might be a problem for on-the-go owners, but you can still make to with these so-called issues as long as you know how to maximize the GiGi’s capabilities to fit your convenience.
